In high school hockey last night…
- Hancock outshot Lakes Area United in Waterford 53-18, but lost the game 3-2. United’s Logan Scheidt scored the game’s first three goals. Hancock rebounded with tallies by Ben Keranen and Brady Axford in the third period, but couldn’t close the gap. Brian Ponnikas took the loss in net. Rocco Colisimo stopped 51 shots to earn the win.

- Chassell defeated Calumet 66-48. Brayden Larson had a game-high 32 points and Dayne Tarvis added 13 for the Panthers. John Golus had 15 points for the Copper Kings, and Peter Torola added 13.

College Basketball
Both Michigan Tech teams lost at Davenport last night.
- The sixth-ranked men’s team couldn’t overcome a cold start, and fell 72-69. The Huskies trailed by 22 early in the second half, rallied to take a brief lead late in the game, but couldn’t close it out. Marcus Tomashek scored 17.
- The women’s squad dropped a 63-51 decision. Kendall Standfest netted 15.
Both Tech teams play at Grand Valley State tomorrow.
Both NMU squads fell at Grand Valley State last night.
- The 10th-ranked men’s team fell to the 23rd-ranked Lakers 85-80. Cal Klesmitt scored 17.
- The Wildcats women’s team lost to the top-ranked Lakers 70-47. Sydney Whitehouse had 10 points.
Both NMU squads play at Davenport tomorrow.
College Hockey
The Michigan Tech hockey team skates at Saint Thomas tonight and tomorrow night.
The Northern Michigan hockey team hosts Bemidji State tonight and tomorrow night.

The Calumet Wolverines visit the Mosinee Papermakers tonight, and the Sun Prairie Killer Bees tomorrow.

NHL
The Red Wings dropped a 4-3 shootout to the Capitols last night. Alex DeBrincat scored twice, and Ben Chiarot once. Patrick Kane’s assist on Chiarot’s goal was the 1,375th point of his career, and moved him past Mike Modano as the all-time leading U.S.-born player. John Gibson made 20 saves.
The Wings have lost three of their last four, and welcome the Avalanche tomorrow afternoon. Coverage will begin at 12:45 on 99.3 The Lift.
NBA
Cade Cunningham scored 26, but the Pistons lost to the Suns 114-96 last evening. Detroit’s bench contributed just 18 points.
The Pistons visit the Warriors tonight. Coverage will begin at 9:35 on 99.3 The Lift.
The Bucks lost to the Wizards 109-99 last night. Myles Turner had 21 points and 14 rebounds.
The Bucks have dropped four straight, and call on the Celtics Sunday afternoon.
NFL
The Packers are looking for a new quarterbacks coach. Sean Mannion is leaving to become the Eagles’ offensive coordinator.
