Pigs-N-Heat hockey game supports the local police and fire relief fund

Across Copper Country, several fire departments and police agencies help keep the community safe. Even after an incident scene clears, families often face challenges moving forward. Through the Copper Country Police and Fire Relief Fund, the community has a reliable safety net to support homeowners and crime victims after emergencies.

This Friday, the Copper Country’s first responders will come together for fundraising and entertainment at the annual Pigs n Heat Hockey Game at the MacInnes Ice Arena. The game pits fire departments against police departments in a rivalry that represents more than just competition on the ice.

The game is the fund’s largest annual support event. During intermission, there will be a 50/50 raffle and a “chuck a puck” contest to add to the fun.

Doors open at 5 p.m., with tickets costing $5. Tickets can be purchased from local department members or at the door. The game begins at 6:30 p.m.
