Copper Shores meals on wheels elevated Jessica Mills to the role of program director.
In an announcement on Wednesday, Copper Shores Community Health Foundation shared Jessica Mills will take over meals on wheels’ program director responsibilities. Mills has the distinguished honor of having met each senior currently participating in the meals on wheels program. She previously served meals on wheels as the program assessor.
Copper Shores senior program director Rebecca Crane says Mills has been the heart of meals on wheels since joining the team. She will enter into the leadership role with a strong understanding of the program’s challenges, client needs and how the program will move forward.
Mills says she wants to strengthen the program’s trust in the community and plans to perform more outreach work in the coming year.
The meals on wheels program expects to begin receiving funds supported by a recently passed elder nutrition millage in the spring, and Mills has already begun organizing plans for new Meet and Eat sites to provide a family-style meal to seniors.
