- L’Anse downed Hancock 65-37. Sam Lee paced the Purple Hornets with 28 points. Gage Chynoweth had 24 for the Bulldogs.
- Lake Linden-Hubbell fell to Ewen-Trout Creek 56-45.

- Baraga shut down Watersmeet 74-30.

- Houghton overcame an 11-point first-half deficit to defeat Westwood 56-43. The Gremlins took control with a 20-1 scoring run to open the second half. Ellie Hainault had 18 points for the Gremlins, and Romi Mattson added 13 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Kaylin Doney scored 10 for the Patriots.
- Kingsford hit a shot at the buzzer to take a 39-37 victory over Calumet.
- Baraga remained unbeaten with a 42-39 victory over Hancock.

College Basketball
The Michigan Tech basketball teams split their games against Northern Michigan last night.
- The Huskies women’s squad fell to the 14th-ranked Wildcats 74-46. Sarah Newcomer scored a career-high 27 points for the Wildcats. No Husky reached double figures.
- The 12th-ranked MTU men’s team outscored 18th-ranked NMU 84-75, breaking the Wildcats’ 12-game win streak. Marcus Tomashek poured in 35 points for the Huskies. Dylan Kuehl scored 27 for Northern.
Both Tech teams host Ferris State tomorrow – the women at noon, and the men at 2:00.
Both Northern squads will host Ferris on Monday.
College Hockey
The Michigan Tech hockey team skates at Bemidji State tonight and tomorrow.
The NMU hockey squad hosts Augustana tonight and tomorrow.
GLHL
The Calumet Wolverines entertain the Fox Cities Ice Dogs tonight at 7:30.
The Portage Lake Pioneers visit the Mosinee Papermakers tonight, then return home to host the Ice Dogs tomorrow at 7:30.
NHL
The Red Wings buried the Canucks 5-1 last night. Patrick Kane scored twice, and Axel Sandin-Pellikka, J.T. Compher and Lucas Raymond each found the net once. John Gibson made 23 saves.
The Wings visit the Canadiens tomorrow.
NBA
The Pistons host the Clippers tomorrow.
The Bucks visit the Lakers tonight.
MLB
Television coverage this summer for the Tigers and Brewers is up in the air. Detroit, Milwaukee and seven other Major League teams canceled their contracts with FanDuel Sports yesterday. FanDuel’s parent company, Main Street Sports, is believed to be heading into bankruptcy, and has already missed rights payments to a couple of teams. If Main Street reorganizes, the teams could sign new contracts. If not, MLB says its own network will step in to cover the games.
