In boys high school basketball last evening…
- Houghton smothered Gwinn 68-26. Terrance Nolan had 22 points for the Gremlins, Alex Hebert added 17, and Jack Cooke had 13. Nate Carter had 9 points to lead the Modeltowners.
- Hancock lost to Ishpeming 65-29.
- Calumet fell to Negaunee 50-34. Andrew Juntilla and Peter Torola each netted 10 points for the Copper Kings. Tristan Slater had 17 for the Miners.
- Chassell dropped an 80-49 decision to Wakefield-Marenisco. Brayden Larson led the Panthers with 15 points, and Grady Olson added 13.
- Baraga lost to Bessemer 63-43.
- L’Anse fell to Ironwood 60-43.
- Jeffers defeated Ontonagon 71-51. Landon Larson had 27 points for the Jets.
- Forest Park shaded Kingsford 69-68.
- West Iron County lost to Norway 37-21.

- Jeffers downed Ontonagon 54-34. Isabelle Rajala led the Jets with 17 points, and Karissa Rautiola and Mia Nordstrom each added 12.

The Red Wings got back on the winning track with a 5-3 victory over the Senators last night. Detroit got goals from Andrew Copp, Dylan Larkin, James van Riemsdyk and Michael Rasmussen. John Gibson made 35 saves.
The Wings host the Canucks Thursday. Coverage will begin at 6:45 on 99.3 The Lift.
NBA
The Pistons buried the Knicks 121-90 last night. Cade Cunningham had 29 points and 13 assists.
The Pistons entertain the Bulls tomorrow. Coverage will begin at 6:35 on 99.3 The Lift.
The Bucks visit the Warriors tomorrow.
MLB
The Tigers have signed reliever Scott Effross to a minor league contract. Effross had a couple of effective seasons with the Cubs and Yankees a few years ago, but has missed much of the past three seasons with a series of injuries, including Tommy John ligament replacement surgery.
NFL
With the regular season over, the 2026 draft positions for teams that did not make the playoffs have been set. The Raiders will pick first, followed by the Jets and the Cardinals. The Lions will have the 17th selection, and the Vikings the 18th.
