In boys basketball last night…
- Houghton raced past Ontonagon 71-35. The Gremlins were up by just three points at halftime, but outscored the Gladiators 48-15 in teh second half. Terrance Nolan had 19 points for Houghton, Mason Mayo added 12, Alex Herbert 11 and Jack Cooke 10. Jack Nelson had 15 points for the Gladiators.
- L’Anse outscored Watersmeet 77-43.

- West Iron County got past Escanaba 50-43.

College Basketball
Jacy Weisbrod scored a career-best 33 points, as the 14th-ranked Northern Michigan women’s basketball team got past Northwood 83-77.
The NMU men’s team is in Puerto Rico for a game against Universidad Interamericana this evening.
NHL
The Red Wings dropped a 4-1 decision to the Utah Mammoth last night. Emmitt Finnie netted Detroit’s only goal. Cam Talbot made 24 saves and took the loss.
The Wings entertain the Capitols Saturday, with coverage beginning at 12:15 on 99.3 The Lift.
NBA
The Pistons visit the Mavericks tonight.
The Bucks host the Raptors tonight.
NFL
