Copper Country Snowsports Club skiers place earn a place at the podium during a recent competition in Canada. Recently the Copper Country Snowsports Club was included in a race in Searchmont, Canada, where the club had two skiers earn 1st place finishes in their races. Additionally the club saw one skier earn a 2nd place finish, and added 3 more podium places with another three skiers earning 3rd in their events. The race over the weekend was a pre-season event. Conditions on the hill included -15 degree temperatures and head on winds during the international competition.
In addition to the club’s active skiers CCSC celebrated seeing alumni Reed Heathman, now competing with Northern Michigan University, finish in second place in the slalom and 3rd in the giant slalom. His brother, Eli, took the edge in the giant slalom beating his brother to take first place.

Young skiers interested in taking their favorite hobby to new heights might consider joining the Copper Country Snowsports club this Saturday for the team’s first official practice at Mont Ripley.
