The Keweenaw Community Foundation announces $112,000 in grant awards during the fall cycle. On Monday, the Keweenaw Community Foundation shared it will award more than $112,000 during the fall grant cycle, supported by seven funds.
The Community Impact Fund will award close to $50,000 to 12 organizations in the community for projects. Some of those awards will support the Copper Country Humane Society’s vaccination clinic, a renovation of the second floor of the Copper Country Angel Mission’s Calumet store, support the Elaine Bacon Literacy Program’s wellness cafe, and purchase K-9 equipment for the Superior Search and Rescue Team.
CCAM, CCISD, Keweenaw CAPE, The Rozsa Center, Camp Josh, Copper Harbor Trails Club, Hancock Trails Club, and Keweenaw ATV Club will receive support from the Kellogg Youth Endowment Fund for projects focused on youth engagement, health, education, and recreation.
The Keweenaw Cross Country Skiing Fund will award $2,400 to the Copper Country Ski Tigers to support a year-round coaching position and the Swedetown Trails Club’s universal access and expansion plans. The Environmental Fund will make the award of $1,800 to the Pewabic Street Community Gardens for improving the garden’s capacity for growing food.
