Houghton Portage Township Schools honors the district’s Director of Maintenance and receives the MSAFE Award.
Recently HPTS schools announced the district has been awarded the Michigan Safety Awareness and Facility Excellence Award, that recognizes four SET SEG members in Michigan each year. The award reflects a district commitment to safety, readiness, and excellence in maintaining facilities.
Houghton Portage Township Schools attributes the award to the dedication of Director of Maintenance Ron Peryam’s attention to detail, leadership, and his piloting of a vape detection program to support student health and safety. The district will also receive $2,500 as a part of the MSAFE award to further strengthen safety and facility programs.
Superintendent Anders Hill says Ron’s outstanding ownership and attention to detail ensure our buildings and classrooms are always ready to support students and learning.
Houghton Portage Township Schools extends its gratitude for Ron Peryam’s leadership and positive impact on the education community.
