- Portland Saint Patrick won the Division Two title with a stunning 53-0 trouncing of North Dickinson.
- Martin clobbered Montabella 52-8 to take the Division One crown.
In 11-player semifinal games involving Upper Peninsula teams …
- In Division Eight, Bark River-Harris’ season ended with a 40-0 loss to Harbor Beach. The Pirates will play Hudson for the state title Friday morning at 9:30
- In Division Seven, Menominee got past Pewamo-Westphalia 32-28. The Maroons will face Schoolcraft for the state crown Sunday morning at 9:30.

Note that the championships are usually played on the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving. This year, the Saturday games have been moved to Sunday to accommodate a college football game at Ford Field.
College Hockey
The Michigan Tech hockey team fell 3-2 at Minnesota State Saturday night. Stiven Sardarian and Reid Andreson scored for the Huskies. Owen Bartoszkiewicz made 17 saves.
The NMU hockey squad dropped a 6-2 decision at Bemidji State Saturday evening. Jakub Altrichter scored on a penalty shot, and assisted on a goal by Matthew Argentina. NMU remains winless this season.
College Basketball
The 13th-ranked Michigan Tech men’s team held off Saint Cloud State 63-59 at the American Family Insurance Classic in Duluth Saturday. Ty Fernholtz led the Huskies with 22 points, and Marcus Tomashek added 18.
The Northern men will take on Northwest Missouri State this afternoon.
NHL
Alex DeBrincat’s overtime goal lifted the Red Wings to a 4-3 victory over the Blue Jackets Saturday. Lucas Raymond scored early. Ben Chiarot and Moritz Seider added late goals to force the extra period. Cam Talbot made 31 saves.
The Wings host the Devils tomorrow. Because of NFL football, coverage will begin at 6:45 on KBear 102.3.
NBA
The Pistons dispatched the Bucks 129-116 Saturday for their 12th straight victory. Cade Cunningham had 29 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists for Detroit. Jaden Ivey scored 10 points in 15 minutes in his first game action since he broke his leg on January 1st. Ryan Rollins paced Milwaukee with 24 points.
The Pistons visit the Pacers tomorrow.
The Bucks host the Trail Blazers tomorrow.
NFL
The Lions host the Giants in a 1:00 game today on 99.3 The Lift.
The Packers entertain the Vikings in a 1:00 contest. Running back Josh Johnson’s availability will be a game-time decision, as he recovers from a knee injury suffered last week.
The Buccaneers visit the Rams in the Sunday night game on 99.3 The Lift.
