The Keweenaw County Sheriff’s Office will soon kick off its annual No Kid Without a Christmas program, delivering holiday joy to children and families across the county. For more than 25 years, the sheriff’s office has led a community-wide effort that gives gifts to about 100 children each year. Gifts include winter coats and jackets, hats, gloves, boots and a special gift for each child.
The program has earned support from many residents and businesses, including Allouez BP gas station, Dollar General in Allouez, Lassila Insurance and Sundae in the Park.
The Keweenaw County Sheriff’s Office will accept contributions at the Eagle River station. Monetary donations provide an extra boost to the program, helping organizers access funds to ensure each child receives a desired gift and volunteers can purchase winter clothing in needed sizes.
