Helping people comes naturally to communities that rely on each other, and recent efforts across the Copper Country have shown support for families and households needing access to food security. Recent starts and pauses to SNAP benefits at the beginning of November have highlighted food security needs in the area, making community support efforts more crucial.
The CLK Council of Churches will host its annual pantry concert fundraiser Sunday to support families facing food insecurity in the Copper Country.
CLK Pantry director Brian Hirvela says it’s an important source of support for the pantry and helps keep the shelves and fridges full. The afternoon concert will feature local musicians and choirs performing at Sacred Heart Church. After the performances, attendees are invited to join CLK pantry volunteers for a pie social.
The Thanks and Giving Concert begins at 3 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Calumet. The event will accept donations at the door.
More details about the concert are available online here.
