Freshly becoming a 501c 3 organization can make a big difference for a non-profit that’s worked in our communities since 2014. Including joining Copper Shores and other non-profits at the 2025 Giving Tuesday party in December. The Copper COuntry Recycling initiative will join the campaign for the first time this year. But the group has worked over the past decade to encourage recycling throughout the Copper Country’s communities. CCRI Treasurer Sara Fehringer says members hope to grow and become a larger part of the community after recently gaining approval as an official non-profit.
Last year I participated not at the live event at the mall, but I gave to several organizations that I support locally through the Giving Tuesday campaign. And I was impressed. I was impressed. And so I’m excited that our group can have that same exposure this year, both online when somebody is looking to donate to, you know, what are their local organizations that they support and discover us for the first time that Oh, I didn’t realize that there was a group locally that is working towards better recycling in the community. – Sara Fehringer, Treasurer, Copper Country Recycling Initiative
The copper country recycling initiative hosts educational events throughout the year. Also, ccri organizes recycling events in the community.
