She was born at Laurium Memorial hospital on August 11, 1938 to Dominic and Anna (Rabuze) Richetta, graduated from Sacred Heart school in June 1958, and loved cheerleading and watching basketball.
Shortly after graduation she left for Adrian MI where she entered the Dominican Order and was ordained in 1963. She received her teaching degree and taught in several Catholic schools in Chicago and Munising. She returned home after 10 years.
She then taught 1st grade at Calumet public school for over 30 years. She loved her years in the classroom and teaching the children. She was fun, loving, generous, and she simply loved life.
Mary would like to thank the ICU doctor and nurse for their compassion and care during Dorothy’s final days.
A Mass of Christian Burial took place for Dorothy on Wednesday November 5, 2025. She was laid to rest in Lake View Cemetery.
