Daniel Connor from Baraga High School has been selected to participate in the upcoming Native All-American Football Game. Invitations were sent to the top 70 Native American high school players who maintain at least a certain grade point average. Daniel is a member of the L’Anse-Baraga co-op team. The game will be played December 14th at the Minnesota Vikings’ home stadium in Minneapolis.
College Basketball
For the second straight year, Michigan Tech men’s basketball guard Marcus Tomashek has been selected as the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Preseason Player of the Year. Tomashek was also named to the preseason All-GLIAC First Team, along with Northern Michigan forward Dylan Kuehl. Tech’s Dawson Nordgaard and Northern’s Jackson Dudek were placed on the preseason All-GLIAC Second Team.
NHL
The Red Wings visit the Kings tonight. Because of NFL football, coverage will begin at 10:15 on KBear 102.3.
NBA
The Pistons outscored the Magic 135-116 last night. Cade Cunningham had 30 points and 10 assists. Tobias Harris added 23 points, and Jalen Duren scored 21 and grabbed 13 rebounds.
The Pistons face the Mavericks in Mexico City Saturday night. Coverage will begin at 9:35 on 99.3 The Lift.
The Bucks welcome the Warriors tonight.
MLB
The Blue Jays shut down the Dodgers 6-1 last night, and took a 3-2 lead in the World Series. Game six will be played tomorrow night in Toronto.
