A campaign to send care packages to military members has started. The 3rd annual Military Care Package Drive with the Michigan Tech Young Americans for Freedom chapter, in partnership with the Hubbell VFW Post 4624 opened on Monday.
For the next three weeks, the student group will collect donations and handwritten letters to send to deployed service members. Throughout the area of items, residents can drop off donated items of letters or artwork to four locations or email the student group for larger donations. The YAF chapter has also organized an amazon prime wish list that includes various snacks and drink mixes.
Monetary donations during donation campaigns such as the Military Care Pack Drive go a long way. Volunteer organizers can use donations to purchase specific items the drive is low on inventory for, and purchase items others may not have thought to purchase this year. The 3rd annual military care pack drive will accept donations online through a go fund me campaign, or you can mail donations to the Hubbell VFW post, marked for the military care package drive.
The students will collect donations until November 14th. Students will then begin working on packaging boxes and mailing items across the globe to active service members.
