High School
Lake Linden-Hubbell will begin football tournament play at home next weekend, while Calumet, L’Anse and West Iron County will begin on the road. Tournament games will be played Friday or Saturday, with dates and times still to be determined.
In Eight-Player Division Two, the Lakes are seeded second in their region, and will host North Central Saturday. Top seed North Dickinson will host St. Ignace in the other semifinal.
In 11-Player Division Six, the Copper Kings will travel to Kingsley for a rematch of last year’s District opener. The game will be Saturday, and will be broadcast on the Voice of the Copper Kings, KBear 102.3. Boyne City will play at Traverse City St. Francis in the other semifinal.
In 11-Player Division Eight, third seed L’Anse will play at Iron Mountain. Fourth seed West Iron County will open at Bark River-Harris, with the game broadcast on 99.1 WIKB.

- In Division Three, third seed Marquette will play at Gaylord. Mount Pleasant will host Bay City Western in the other semifinal.
- In Division Four, top seed Escanaba will entertain Freeland. Big Rapids will play at Ludington in the other semifinal.
- In Division Five, fourth seed Negaunee will travel to Ogemaw Heights in West Branch. Kingsford will host Gladwin in the other semifinal.
- In Division Seven, top-seed Menominee will host Manton. McBain will play at Charlevoix in the other semifinal.
- In Eight-Player Division One, top seed Norway will entertain Gogebic. Pickford will play at Inland Lakes.
The sites and pairings for the volleyball tournament, which begins a week from tonight, have also been announced.
- In Division Four, District 98: Monday – Baraga at Chassell, with the winner to play at Hancock Wednesday; L’Anse at Dollar Bay-Tamarack City, with the winner to play at Lake Linden-Hubbell Wednesday. The championship game will be played on Friday.
- In Division Four, District 97, with all games played at Forest Park: Monday – Ewen-Trout Creek faces Bessemer, with the winner to play Forest Park on Wednesday; Ontonagon takes on Watersmeet, with the winner to play Wakefield-Marenisco on Wednesday. The championship game will be played on Thursday.
- In Division Three, District 65: Monday – Ishpeming will play at Ironwood, with the winner taking on Jeffers on Wednesday. Calumet will host Westwood on Wednesday, with the broadcast on the Voice of the Copper Kings, KBear 102.3. The final will be played Friday, and will also be broadcast on KBear 102.3 if the Copper Kings advance.
- In Division Two, District 33: Monday – Gladstone plays at Escanaba, with the winner to face Negaunee on Wednesday. Houghton will host Kingsford on Wednesday, with the broadcast on The Voice of the Gremlins, 97.7 The Wolf. The championship game will be played Thursday, and will also be broadcast on 97.7 The Wolf if Houghton advances.

College Soccer
The MTU women’s soccer team fell 6-1 to fifth-ranked Grand Valley State yesterday. Karli Koskinen scored her first college goal for the Huskies.
The NMU women’s soccer team played Ferris State to a 2-2 draw yesterday.
The Northern Michigan men’s soccer team blanked St. Cloud State 3-0 yesterday.
NHL
The Red Wings visit the Blues tomorrow. Coverage will begin at 7:45 on 99.3 The Lift.
NBA
The Pistons outscored the Celtics 119-113 yesterday. Cade Cunningham scored 25 points, and Jalen Duren added 24 points and grabbed 18 rebounds. Ausar Thompson scored 21 points, and had 12 rebounds.
The Pistons host the Cavaliers tonight.
The Bucks lost to the Cavaliers 118-113 last night. Giannis Antetokounmpo had 40 points and 14 rebounds.
The Bucks will entertain the Knicks tomorrow.
MLB
The World Series continues tonight in Los Angeles. The Blue Jays and Dodgers are tied 1-1.
NFL
The Packers scored 28 points in the second half, and came from behind to defeat the Steelers 35-25 in last night’s NFL game. Jordan Love threw three touchdown passes for Green Bay, while Aaron Rodgers tossed two for Pittsburgh.
The Commanders visit the Chiefs in tonight’s contest. Coverage begins at 7:30 on 99.3 The Lift.
The Lions had this weekend off.
