The M-26 and Canal Road traffic signal will transition to a flashing yellow for the winter. The Michigan Department of Transportation announced it will place the traffic signal on M-26 at the Canal Road intersection in Houghton into a flash mode starting next week. On Tuesday, drivers will continue to obey traffic laws but will not need to stop and wait for a green light on m-26 when passing the canal road intersection. The start of the schedule is subject to change depending on weather conditions. MDOT urges drivers remain aware of signal changes. Continue to use caution when approaching the canal road intersection.
