LouElla Ann Ellis, age 95 of L’Anse, MI passed away Friday, October 10, 2025 at Bayside Village, L’Anse with her special loving family by her side. She was born in L’Anse, MI on August 25, 1930, the daughter of the late Paul and Caroline (Nelson) Fahlgren. She graduated from L’Anse High School in 1948. LouElla married Wesley E. Ellis in L’Anse on May 27,1963. He preceded her in death on March 28, 1986. She had been employed at Baraga County Memorial Hospital, L’Anse as a Radiology Tech and Pathology Tech. She retired following 38 years of dedicated employment. LouElla is a member of United Lutheran Church, L’Anse and the L’Anse American Legion Post #144 Women’s Auxiliary. She is a gifted quilter, enjoyed playing cards with friends, going to camp and is an avid Green Bay Packer fan. LouElla is a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother and cherishes her time spend with her family.
LouElla has 4 children Roger Soli of Marquette, Ramona (Robert) Savitski of Appleton, WI, Kim (Frank) Taddeucci of Keweenaw Bay, and Janal (Tim) Bennett of L’Anse. 7 grandchildren; Billy, Tara (John), Jamie (Jeff), Jacki (Matt), Laura (Lexi), Megan (Kody), and Lisa (Tyge), 11 great grandchildren, nieces, including special niece Carol Ranta, nephews, and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brother Carroll (Marcella) Fahlgren, special nephew Daniel Fahlgren, sisters Ada Peltoniemi, Elizabeth (Norman) Eddy, Norma (Norman) Govette, and Beverly Fahlgren.
Funeral services for LouElla will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday October 17, 2025 at the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse with Rene Eliason officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Immediately following the services, interment will take place in the L’Anse Evergreen Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at United Lutheran Church, L’Anse.
