Hancock will devote the weekend to promoting local businesses.
Community Development Director Todd Gast says the city has hooked up with a Michigan Retailers’ Association program called “Buy Nearby.”
Today through Sunday, Gast says lots of Hancock stores and restaurants will have special offers and activities…
For instance, Gino’s is going to be celebrating Plaidurday and they’re going to have a grand reopening of their new deck. They’re going to have a cornhole tournament. And then, Sunflower Books and Coffee, they’re going to be doing 25 percent off on books. It’s just going to be a great day to come on out and discover our local businesses.
One shopper will come away with a big payoff. Pick up a “Shop 3 Challenge” card at any participating business, or at City Hall. Take it to three of those participating businesses…
Get somebody there at the business to sign off on that business line, and you can enter for a chance to win a $500 gift card from the Michigan Retailers’ Association.
Balloons will be set out in front of businesses taking part.
