Joseph Earl LaFernier, 48 passed away in Laurium on September 19th 2025.
He was born on March 3rd, 1977 in Baraga to Elaine and Earl LaFernier. He worked at Calumet Electronics and from there moved on to join the Ironworkers Local 8.
Surviving him is his girlfriend of 32+ years Carrie Strack and his three children Lindsey Sagers (Jerrett S), Ethan LaFernier, Macy LaFernier, and three grandchildren Kairi Dronet, Remy Sagers and Olivia Sagers. Joe also had 3 sisters, 1 brother, and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a celebration of life held for him on Monday September 29th at Lions Park in Calumet from 3-6.
