In high school volleyball last night…
- Jeffers swept L’Anse 3-0 (25-14, 25-19, 25-20). Liz Halonen had 14 assists for the Jets. Kylee Kangas and Mia Nordstrom each had 3 aces. Mia Nordstom had 5 kills.
- Lake Linden-Hubbell got past Ontonagon 3-1 (25-7, 26-24, 25-16, 25-20). For the Lakes, Payton Goldsworthy had 11 aces and 15 assists. Ella Schneiderhan had 11 kills. Ashlyn Steves had 20 digs, 5 assists and 5 aces.

At the Tracy Strom Invitational cross country meet in Ishpeming yesterday…
- Jeffers claimed the boys’ team title, with Houghton second and Hancock fifth. Cameron Anderson of the Jets took the individual title, with Landon Larson third. Benjamin Hemmer led the Gremlins with a fifth-place finish.
- Houghton took the girls’ team crown, with Calumet second and Hancock fourth. Gremlins Sela Niska, Holly Cooke and Norah Woodruff took the top three individual slots. Calumet’s Elli Harju finished fifth.

At the Baraga Invitational yesterday…
- Dollar Bay-Tamarack City claimed the boys’ team title. Landon Halkola of the Blue Bolts took the individual title, with teammates Caleb Kentola and Dane Torrey fourth and fifth.
- L’Anse outpointed Ewen-Trout Creek for the girls’ team crown. The Panthers and Purple Hornets claimed nine of the top 10 individual positions, with Ewen’s Bree Besonen first, and L’Anse’s Princess Pierre second.

- Houghton entertains Menominee, with coverage at 6:40 on the Voice of the Gremlins, 97.7 The Wolf.
- Calumet travels to Kingsford, with coverage at 6:40 on the Voice of the Copper Kings, KBear 102.3. The Copper Kings are ranked fourth by the Upper Peninsula Sportswriters and Sportscasters, and the Flivvers are third.
- Hancock welcomes Negaunee.
- L’Anse hosts Iron Mountain.
- The West Iron County at Gwinn has been canceled because the Modeltowners called off their season.

College Volleyball
The Michigan Tech volleyball team will host Roosevelt University tonight at 5, and Parkside tomorrow at 2.
The NMU volleyball squad will entertain Parkside this evening, and Roosevelt tomorrow.
College Soccer
The Tech women’s soccer team welcomes Davenport tonight at 7, and Grand Valley Sunday at noon.
The NMU soccer team hosts Grand Valley this afternoon, and Davenport Sunday.
The NMU men’s team plays at Purdue Northwest this afternoon, and Roosevelt Sunday.
MLB
The Tigers snapped their eight-game losing streak with a 4-2 victory over the Guardians last night. Jahmai Jones led off the game with a home run. Wenceel Pérez added a first-inning homer, and Riley Greene added one in the fourth. Troy Melton started, and pitched into the fourth, giving up one run. Brant Hurter got the win in relief.
The victory moved the Tigers back into a tie with the Guardians for first place in the American League Central Division. Cleveland owns the tiebreaker.
The Tigers close their regular season with a three-game set in Boston beginning tonight. Casey Mize will start against Kyle Harrison. Coverage will begin at 6:45 on 99.3 The Lift.
The Guardians close their season at home against the Rangers.
The Brewers had yesterday off, and welcome the Reds tonight. Quinn Priester will pitch against Zack Littell.
NHL
The Red Wings pounded the Sabres 5-2 in a preseason match last night. Detroit got goals from Mason Appleton, Michael Brandsegg-Nygård, Dylan Larkin, Moritz Seider and Andrew Copp, while outshooting Buffalo 40-18.
The Wings visit the Penguins for an exhibition tilt tonight.
NFL
In last night’s NFL game, the Seahawks outlasted the Cardinals 23020.
The Lions host the Browns in a 1:00 game Sunday.
The Packers play the Sunday night game at Dallas, with coverage on 99.3 The Lift.
