John Paul Kastelic of Gay, Michigan passed away on Sunday September 21, 2025, at home, surrounded by his family.

John was born on February 14, 1942, in Laurium to parents John M. and Geraldine (Holland) Kastelic. John was a graduate of Calumet High School Class of 1960. John worked for Peninsular Gas Company in Laurium as a heavy equipment operator and member of Teamsters Local 406 before his retirement in 2003. During his retirement, John was instrumental in building houses with two of his sons in Gay. John enjoyed woodworking, projects with his backhoe, tinkering in his garage, Packer Football, and hunting. He loved spending time with his family, traveling, taking cruises and being at deer camp. John was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Church in Calumet and the Lake Linden Hubbell Sportsman’s Club.
John is preceded in death by his parents, John and Geraldine. He is survived by his wife Marilyn, sons Roger (Lauretta) of Palm City FL, Kurt (Margaret) of Rochester MI, and Craig (Kelly) of Spring Hill, TN, grandchildren Matthew, Eric, Garrett, Claire, Ida, Johnny, Kaylee, and Max, brother Robert (Shirley), niece Jennifer Kreuger, and nephew Brian.
A graveside service officiated by Father Gracious Pulimoottil was held for John’s family at Lakeview Cemetery. John will be laid to rest next to his parents.
