In 2024 Honeywell, the EPA, and EGLE held a public forum at Lake Linden-Hubbell Schools to share information on the drum pilot study and work that will take place at the Lake Linden Recreation Area in 2026.
In 2026 the Torch Lake cleanup work starts back up. But before EGLE, EPA and Honeywell stage equipment in Lake Linden and Hubbell the contractors will meet with the public. In October the community is invited to the Torch Lake Clean Up Open House at the Lake Linden High School. During the open house residents and community members can learn about the work taking place near the Torch Lake Recreation Area expected to start in the spring. Professionals will also be on hand to discuss the results of a drum removal pilot study at the Hubbell Processing Area and the benthos pilot study at the Benthos Restoration Habitat site. The Torch Lake Clean up open house with EGLE, EPA and Honeywell as a part of the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative will take place at the Lake Linden High school on October 7th from 4 to 7 pm.
