Huskies might leave to find careers. But some will return to recruit new teammates.
Today is the annual Michigan Tech Career Fair, that invites alumni to return to the Copper Country and introduces students to big opportunities. Michigan Technological University boasts that more than 92 percent of degree earners will find a job within their career field within five years of graduating. And on average graduates will earn a median starting salary of more than 71,000 dollars.
Career fairs offer great chances to meet new people and build connections with professionals in a variety of fields. Even if a student does not receive a call back right away for a job after graduation. Connections with a network of professionals can help someone connect to another team that needs a husky’s help.
The career fair today will begin at noon at the SDC. Students seeking career opportunities should bring with them several copies of their resume, update their handshake profile, and dress for success. Interview day will follow the career fair on Wednesday.
