Two road projects will start on US-41 today between Baraga and Houghton Counties.
In Chassell MDOT crews will have a contractor on site to replace a culvert. The work will take place north of Massie Road, near Sajdak Road. The Department expects the culvert replacement will wrap up by October 27th.
A second project will occur in two locations, near L’Anse and in downtown Hancock. MDOT will mill and resurface the highway in L’Anse and Hancock between Monday and Friday, September 22nd to the 26th. Work in Hancock will begin today, taking place between 7 pm and 7am to avoid high traffic volume times of the day. The project will have crews close one lane of traffic at a time. MDOT will resurface the road between the M-203 intersection and Reservation Street on US-41 South.
Work on US-41 in L’Anse will start on Wednesday. That work will also take place during alternative hours, and motorists can expect a lane closure and traffic shifted with flag control in place. MDOT’s resurfacing project site is between Power Dam Road and Massie Road/Maki Road intersections with US-41.
