Students have taken the bus to school 14 days since the first day of school. Whether your student is an early pick up on the bus route or one of last to get picked up in the morning, the rules of the bus stay the same.
Recently Lamers Busing, who contracts with the Copper Country ISD and partnered school districts, asked parents to remind students about bus etiquette. While riding the bus every student needs to remain seated. Buses are designed with no seatbelts and high back seats. Staying seated while on the bus, in the case of a sudden stop, keeps kids safe. Bus drivers do not allow students to eat food on the bus. Lamers says this is to avoid potential choking hazards, or allergic reactions. And keeps the bus clean.
Some might enjoy a quiet ride home, while others might want to catch up with classmates. It’s perfectly okay to talk with friends and other people on the bus, however Lamers do ask students to refrain from screaming while on the ride home. Additionally, Lamers busing does not allow students to touch another student and encourages students to avoid physical conflict. Please do not throw anything on the bus either.
