Pamela R. “Pam” Kauranen, age 56 of Vero Beach, FL passed away Thursday, August 28, 2025 at VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach. She was born in L’Anse, MI on March 7, 1969 the daughter of David and Karen (Koskela) Kauranen. Pam attended elementary school in Covington, MI and had also played baseball on the Covington Little League team. Pam graduated from L’Anse High School with honors in 1987. She participated in the girls track team and played for the Covington women’s softball team while in high school. Pam attended Northern Michigan University in Marquette for two years. She moved to Florida and opened her own cleaning service. She attended Rollins College in Winter Haven in Florida to study psychology and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. Pam also enrolled at Indian River College to study business where she earned her Business Management degree. She later studied at “Space Coast Health Institute” in Melbourne and graduated in 2006. Pam owned and operated her own business “Pamela Kauranen Massage and Body works in 2006 until she became ill.
Pam made many friends in Florida and would often get together to celebrate birthdays and other occasions. Pam also loved to travel with her friends, making trips to Greece, Japan, Mexico, and the Bahamas. She was very devoted to working out at the gym, but her favorite pastime was taking her border collie “Bella” to the beach and would chase the waves as they came to shore. Pam will sorely be missed by her many friends and clients.
Pam is survived by her parents, David and Karen Kauranen of Watton, brothers Karl and Robert Kauranen of Hancock, her aunts, Elsa Clement of L’Anse, Elizabeth (Ralph) Bischof of Watton, Evelyn (Steve) Hartle of Eagle River, WI, uncles Melvin (Carol) Kauranen of Covington, and Paul (Terry) Koskela of Esko, Minnesota, and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her Aunt Gloria (Donald) Baril of L’Anse, Uncle Rudy (Elizabeth) Kauranen of Watton, her cousin Donald Barill, Jr of L’Anse, grandparents Gladys and Leo Koskela of Covington, and Jalmer and Viena Kauranen of Watton.
Funeral services for Pam will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, October 3, 2025 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Covington with Pastor Corey Harman officiating. The family will greet friends at the church on Friday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. Immediately following the services, interment will take place in the Covington Cemetery. A luncheon will then be held in the church hall.
