Keweenaw County has two more engagement opportunities for residents to express thoughts on a new master plan. Municipal and county governments in the state of Michigan create new master plans every five years in order to stay on track with specific projects, programs, or goals. These documents often help communities reference plans and ideas residents desire, and can aid in obtaining grant funds for support. Since august the Keweenaw County Master Plan committee has held town hall events to engage with residents. The final two meetings will take place within the next week, a meeting is scheduled at the Grant Township Hall on Thursday and another meeting will take place at the Houghton Township Hall on September 16th.
