This year’s beneficiary from the Houghton Rotary’s annual Keweenaw Brewfest is Omega House. The rotary club uses their members to volunteer and support various organizations with time and fundraisers. Rotary club member and Brewfest coordinator Eric Stier recently shared the Omega House plans to use the funds from this year’s event to support purchasing new beds for the facility.
I think just having BrewFest and other events in the community that actually focus on the nonprofit sector of our community. uh There are over 50 nonprofits that are vying for support in this community. And this is just one way for you to give back to the community and do it through a fun uh event. Spend four hours on a Saturday, just, you know, hanging out with friends and enjoying some good conversation and doing it for a good cause. – Mike Lutz, Executive Director, Omega House
Attendees to Brewfest on Saturday will even see Omega House Executive Director Mike Lutz helping Rotarians serve up drinks on the Houghton Waterfront Pier as volunteers. Keweenaw Brewfest will have 23 tables full of various beers, ciders, wines, and canned cocktails. Tickets for Keweenaw Brewfest will cost 60 dollars. Attendees to Keweenaw Brewfest must be 21 years old or older. Those interested in volunteering or want to learn more about the event on Saturday can find more details online.
Keweenaw Brewfest presented by the Houghton Rotary Club will open the gates on Saturday at 1 pm. The event will run until 5 pm.
