William J.” Bill” Carbine age 75 of Skanee, MI passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, August 28, 2025. Bill was born in Chicago, IL on June 20, 1950 the son of the late Francis and Peggy (Sherry) Carbine. Bill graduated from Tinley Park High School in Tinley Park, Il. He joined the United States Air Force and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. Bill had attended Pipefitter School in Chicago and was a member of Local 597 Pipefitters. He married the former Patricia “Pat” Bonini in IL on May 23, 1981. Bill was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, L’Anse. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid sportsman.
William is survived by his loving wife Patricia “Pat” Carbine of Skanee, children Staci Heflin, Tony (Dawn) Allen, and Shannon (Scott) Bisping all of Peotone, IL., grandchildren Trevor, Drew, Meghan, Kylie (Neal), Emily (Dennis), Jenna, Jack, Isabella, Griffin, Paige, and Peyton, great grandchildren Jackson, Madi, Jomarie, and Rory, brother Bob (Vicki) Carbine of Tinley Park, IL, niece Laura (Bruce) Hartman, nephews Michael (Anna) and William Carbine, great nephews Nathan, Jacob, Alexander and Adam, and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Robert Allen.
Funeral services for Bill will be held at 12:00 PM, Friday, September 5, 2025 at the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse with Father Ben Rivard officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10 AM until the time of the service. Immediately following the funeral service, the family invites friends to join them for a luncheon and fellowship in the Harrington Gathering Room, located at the funeral home. Graveside services and military honors will be held in the Skanee Cemetery at a later date and a celebration of life will be held in Illinois.
