Copper Country 100 Women Who Care supports 31 backpacks with 5,300 dollars of support. The Copper Country 100 Women Who Care are a group of like-minded ladies in the community who want to help the region through direct impact efforts.
Just in time for the start of school too. 31 Backpacks supplies meals for students at risk of food insecurity across school districts in Baraga Houghton and Keweenaw counties. The organization holds weekly packing events to deliver meals to schools and hosts larger packing events ahead of longer breaks away from school. The organization also operates a food pantry at the Horizons Alternative school accessible to students in need.
The Copper Country 100 Women Who Care group is a part o f a nationwide philanthropic movement to bring women together and want to commit to making a difference. The group meets four times a year. Members commit to donate 100 dollars at each meeting and collectively decide on a local non-profit organization serving Baraga Houghton or Keweenaw counties to support. The organization welcomes Copper Country women to join the commitment to making a difference and invite potential members to join at the next meeting in November.
