Jerry C. Hollon, age 83 of Skanee, MI passed away at Bayside Village, L’Anse with his loving family by his side on Tuesday, August 19, 2025. He was born in L’Anse, MI on May 22, 1942 the son of the late Clayton and Lacy (Harris) Hollon. Jerry attended school in L’Anse. He married the former Carol Johnson at Zion Luthera Church o August 15, 1964. Jerry had been employed with Erickson Sawmill, L’Anse as a truck driver until his retirement in 2014. He was also a self-employed logger and had ben the sexton for Skanee Cemetery until 2022. Jerry was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Skanee, and was a volunteer fire fighter for the Skanee/Arvon Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to camp, working, and visiting with friends and telling stories about his logging days.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife Carol of Skanee, daughter Tammy Hollon of Skanee, daughter-in-law Gail Hollon of Skanee, grandchildren Ryan Connor of Skanee, Chad (Shelley) Soli of L’Anse, Tara Hollon of Skanee, Dillon Hollon of Skanee, great grandchild Damien Hollon, brothers Roger Hollon of South Dakota, and Albert Hollon of Aura, sister Almeda Hollon of Green Bay, sister-in-law and brother-in law Jennie and Tom Nordstrom of L’Anse, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is also survived by his dog Bella. Jerry was preceded in death by his parent’s, his son Dale Hollon, grandson Justin Connor, sister Genetta Fannin-Cole, brothers Bob and Charlie Hollon, sisters-in-law Liz and Helen Hollon, and Tammy’s significant other Mark Soli.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m., Saturday, August 23, 2025 at the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse with Renee Eliason officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. Immediately following the services, friends are invited to join the family for fellowship and a luncheon at Zion Lutheran Church, Skanee.
