The Brewers also had yesterday off, and host the Mets tonight. Brandon Woodruff will pitch against Kodai Senga.
Milwaukee has sent Easton McGee back down to Nashville. That could open the door to add reliever Shelby Miller to the roster. Miller was recovering from an arm injury when the Brewers got him in a deadline trade with the Diamondbacks. He appears to be ready to return.
NFL
The Lions visit the Falcons in a preseason contest tonight.
The Packers open their preseason tomorrow night at home against the Jets.
NHL
The Red Wings will do their preseason training in Traverse City again this fall. The three-day session will begin on September 18th. Unlike in recent years, however, the team will travel south to play its annual Red and White exhibition game in Grand Rapids, before returning to the Motor City.
NBA
The troubles continue for former Piston Malik Beasley. Beasley was one of Detroit’s most effective players last season. He was set to sign a new deal to stay with Detroit, but that was placed on hold when he became the target of a gambling investigation. Now, he’s been thrown out of his apartment in the pricey Stott high-rise in Detroit, after failing to pay his rent, and not showing up at a court hearing in a lawsuit brought by the building’s owners. Beasley also faces a lawsuit from his former management company, which claims he owes them $650,000.
