Voters enter polling places today across the western upper peninsula. In the Keweenaw Peninsula, Baraga, Houghton, Keweenaw, and Ontonagon county voters will each consider the Copper County ISD’s construction millage for improving education opportunities across the district’s special education, CTE, and education programs. Houghton County voters will decide whether to fund a Meals on Wheels millage of 1 mill over four years. Another consideration for Houghton County voters could support a jail construction millage of 1.65 mills. Canal View will also ask voters to consider the facility’s millage renewal at 2.1 mills.
Baraga County voters will see a second item appear on ballots beyond the CCISD bond, and consider approving the Baraga Area Schools operating millage renewal.
