Dean Andrew Anderson of Woodland Location passed away on July 29, 2025 at home after a lengthy illness.
Dean was born on October 21, 1967 in Laurium, Michigan to Clifford and Florence Anderson. Dean graduated from Calumet High School in 1986 and from Michigan Tech in 1991. He was united in marriage to Marne Lassila on July 3, 1993.
Dean worked as a mechanical engineer at the Keweenaw Research Center until his retirement. He also raised beef cattle.
Dean is preceded in death by his parents, Cliff and Florence Anderson.
He is survived by his wife Marne, four sons: Eli, Axel (Molly), Leonard, and Wyatt, four daughters: Molly, Trudy, Hazel, and Mindy, and two grandchildren Louisa and Dean. He is also survived by his siblings Lisa (Jeff) Andrews, Paul, Kurt (Laura), Al (Jen), Craig (Sue), Dan (Corinne), Lynn (Matt) Berg, and Sarah (Bruce) Anderson.
There will be a visitation for Dean at the First Apostolic Lutheran Church in Calumet, Michigan on Friday August 1, 2025 from 5:00-8:00pm.
A funeral service for Dean Anderson will be held at the First Apostolic Lutheran Church in Calumet, Michigan at 11:00am on Saturday August 2, 2025. A visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service from 10:00-11:00am. Dean will be laid to rest in Lake View Cemetery following the service.
