The Tigers collected just five hits in a 6-2 loss to the Blue Jays last evening. Keider Montero cruised through his first look at the powerful Toronto lineup, but gave up two runs in the fourth, and was charged with four more as he departed in the fifth. The Tigers’ runs came on a Dillon Dingler double in the second, and Spencer Torkelson’s 23rd home run of the season in the sixth.
The Tigers have lost 11 of their last 12, and host the Blue Jays again tonight. Tarik Skubal will face Kevin Gausman. Coverage will begin at 5:45 on 99.3 The Lift.
The Brewers managed just four hits in a 5-1 loss to the Marlins yesterday afternoon. Freddy Peralta gave up a run over five innings. Florida scored four runs in the seventh off Aaron Ashby and Nick Mears. Jackson Chourio homered.
The Brewers entertain the Marlins again this evening. Jose Quintana will pitch against Janson Junk.
