A woman is dead following a single car crash in Ontonagon County.
Ontonagon County Sheriff’s deputies were called out to the Porcupine Mountains Lake of the Clouds access Wednesday morning at around 8:15. They found a vehicle off the roadway, completely burned.
The female driver had been thrown from the vehicle. Her name is being withheld until next of kin are notified.
An investigation into the crash continues, and the sheriff’s department says speed does appear to have been a factor. Additional details will be released when they become available.
