The Upper Peninsula is again experiencing a critical shortage of blood.
Donations of all types are needed.
Officials from the Upper Peninsula Regional Blood Center note that a single blood donation can save up to three lives.
The next blood drive scheduled in our area is Thursday from 11 until 2 at the main UP Health System-Portage campus in Hancock.
Appointments can also be made at the Regional Blood Center office in Hancock by calling 483-1392.
The Blood Center is the sole provider of blood products to all 12 hospitals in the U.P.
