Tarik Skubal pitched another gem last night, as the Tigers broke their losing streak with a 2-1 victory over the Rangers. Skubal pitched into the seventh, struck out 11, and allowed just four hits. He was charged with Texas’ only run when a runner he left on base scored on a wild pitch by Tyler Holton. Detroit scored a run in the second inning on an RBI single by Zack McKinstry. Matt Vierling singled home Gleyber Torres with the winning run in the eighth.

Despite their recent losing streak, the Tigers became the first team in the majors to record 60 wins this season. They’ll visit the Pirates tonight. Jack Flaherty will face Paul Skenes. Coverage will begin at 6:15 on 99.3 The Lift.

Javier Báez left yesterday’s game with a sore shoulder. Team officials say he actually tweaked an injury he suffered a month ago, and they don’t expect he’ll miss much, if any, time.

The Brewers continued their dominance over the Dodgers with a 6-5 victory yesterday. Isaac Collins had two hits and drove in two runs. Jose Quintana gave up four runs over six innings, but was good enough to get the win.

The Brewers have won 10 in a row, and are now tied with the Cubs for first place in the National League Central Division. They’ll visit the Mariners this evening. Brandon Woodruff will pitch against George Kirby.

Milwaukee has added Jake Bauers to the injured list. He’s been dealing with a nagging shoulder injury.
