Glen A. Weiberg, 78, a former resident of Traprock Valley and current Bootjack resident, passed away on July 9, 2025, with his family by his side following a lengthy illness.
He was born on January 6, 1947, in Chicago, IL, a son of the late Theodore and Marilyn (Enberg) Weiberg. Glen was raised in Chicago and was a graduate of Luther North High School. He then attended Michigan Technological University. While attending Michigan Tech, Glen met and married the former Karla Anderson on March 19, 1966. The couple moved to make their home in the Chicago area.
Mr. Weiberg began a career working at the Chicago Board of Trade. In 1979, he was offered a chance to purchase Cal’s restaurant where he worked as a teenager. After purchasing Cals, Glen renamed it to Toots and was able to have two locations until his retirement in 2006. In retirement, Glen and Karla enjoyed summers in Traprock and winters in Alabama. On September 23, 2023, Karla preceded Glen in death.
The couple enjoyed traveling and were able to visit 102 different countries. Glen never missed an opportunity for any type of adventure that came his way. He was also a member of the International Sand Collectors Society. He was also a big Chicago Cubs fan, as a young boy he helped to clean the seating area at Wrigley Field.

His grandchildren: Kaija and Linnea
His sister: Nancy (Gene) Jones
His step-mother: Eleanor Weiberg Fisher
His half-siblings: Laura (Greg) Weiberg Bandemer and Chip (Colleen) Weiberg
Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins
