Keweenaw Pridefest will celebrate and give back to the Copper Country this weekend.
On Saturday the third annual festival will collect donated nonperishable food for the Calumet Free Fridge. Pridefest organizers say they want to give back to a community that has embraced them for who they are.
A small group started planning the first event in 2023. Expecting some friends to join them for a potluck at the park. In three years the event has grown quickly from a few dozen people gathering together to celebrate community. To more than 200 people last year.
This year’s event expects many people will join them for fun activities, music, and food at the Calumet Colosseum. Doors will open on Saturday, June 7th, at 1 pm.
