Frederick (Fritz) Karl Kolb was born in Calumet, Michigan on September 7, 1946 and passed away peacefully on June 3, 2025 in Hancock, Michigan.
Fritz was born and raised in Calumet by parents Frederick and Lucille (Plekenpol) Kolb.
He was joined in marriage to his wife Kathy (Hendrickson) in December 1981. They raised their two daughters in Calumet, Michigan. Fritz was a gentleman with a caring nature who lived a simple life. He enjoyed tinkering on old cars, hunting in the fall, and his time spent at his camp in Bootjack.
Fritz worked for many years at UPPCO. He was a member of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church and especially in his last days he was given strength of faith and was waiting to reach his heavenly home.
Fritz is survived by his wife Kathy, his daughters Leta (Calvin) Vader of Yacolt, WA and Gretchen (Darren) Lee of La Center, WA, along with 11 grandchildren, two sisters, Gretchen Klasner of Marquette, MI and Christine (Tony) Clements of Milwaukee, WI.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother-in-law John Klasner, and one infant grandson Wyatt Vader.
The family would like to thank all of the caregivers and medical professionals that took care of Fritz in his last years.
A funeral service for Frederick Kolb will take place at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church in Hancock on Friday, June 6, 2025 at 1:00pm. Visitation will be held at the church from 12:00-1:00pm. Private burial services will take place at a later date in Lake View Cemetery.
