MI TRALE awards scholarships to students. Recently MI TRALE announced the trail recreation nonprofit will award four scholarships to students and support education opportunities.
Board and scholarship committee member Tim Peacy recently attended Ewen Trout Creek High School’s annual award ceremony to present Connor Cousinear and Riley Vioght with 250-dollar scholarships from the Marvin Westerdahl Memorial Scholarship Fund.
At the same time, MI TRALE president Don Helsel presented awards to Samantha Badgero and Alli Bobula of Ontonagon High School. Each student received 250 dollars toward furthering education.
Helsel says each student represents driven individuals who want to support their communities. Much like Marvin Westerdahl had during his time as vice president of MI TRALE. Helsel also thanked the Westerdahl family for their continued support of recreation and education in the western Upper Peninsula.
