MDOT will perform inspections on the Portage Lake Lift Bridge at the start of June.
Next month MDOT crews will begin annual inspection work and will require intermittent lane closures. On June 2nd the state transportation department will close the northbound outside lane in the morning and afternoon. On June 3rd the crews will close the southbound outside lane. Inspections on June 2nd and 3rd will occur between 830 am to 11 30 am and from 1 to 3 pm.
On June 4th crews will close the eastbound M 26 bypass ramp from Hancock to Ripley for one hour starting at 930 am. Drivers should seek an alternative route during that time. Crews may perform additional inspections on the bridge on the 4th, requiring interment lane closures.
