Lake Linden Hubbell Schools and Superintendent Brad Codere reach an agreement and will accept his resignation.
In a statement sent to Keweenaw Report, Lake Linden Hubbell Schools confirmed that Brad Codere will resign from his position as Superintendent and Principal of the middle school and high school at the end of the school year.
A significant concern was brought to the district regarding Codere earlier in the year. The district says, while the concern was significant, it was not criminal in nature. In light of Mr. Codere’s decision to resign and retire, no further investigation or review of the underlying concern is warranted.
On May 2nd the LLHS board of education called a special meeting. The meeting’s minutes show members met with the district’s attorney for approximately an hour and a half before accepting Codere’s resignation.
By accepting Codere’s resignation the district agreed to have him finish the school year, performing duties remotely. Assistant Principal Lisa Ruhman expects to provide additional in-person leadership for the remainder of the school year.
The board will begin the search for a new superintendent and middle school and high school principal in the near future. The board of Education has complete confidence in the building’s team to continue and finish the school year with little interpterion to students’ education. Find the full statement below.
