MLB
The Tigers blasted the Angels 13-1 yesterday. Trey Sweeney had four hits, including a home run, and drove in six runs. Kerry Carpenter nearly matched that, with four hits including a homer, and five RBI. Colt Keith hit a two-run homer. Reese Olson pitched into the sixth, gave up just three hits, and earned his fourth win of the season.
The Tigers have the best record in the American League. They’ll take today off, and open a series at Colorado tomorrow night. Jackson Jobe will pitch against Chase Dollander. Coverage will begin at 8:15 on 99.3 The Lift.
The Brewers broke their three-game losing streak with a 4-0 victory over the Cubs. Freddy Peralta scattered four hits over six innings. Caleb Durbin hit a two-run double.
The Brewers host the Astros tonight. Tobias Myers will start against Ronel Blanco.
Peralta left yesterday’s game with tightness in his groin. Manager Pat Murphy says they think it’s minor. They’re less certain about Sal Frelick, who left the contest with an achy knee. He’ll be evaluated today.
NBA
The NBA Conference quarterfinals are over. Last night, the Warriors shut down the Rockets 103-89. Golden State advances to the Western Conference semifinals with a 4-3 series win.
The Eastern Conference semifinals began last night, with the Pacers defeating the Cavaliers 121-112.

- The Knicks visit the Celtics to open the other Eastern Conference semifinal series.
- The Western Conference semifinals open, as the Nuggets visit the Thunder.
NHL
The NHL quarterfinals also wrapped up last night, as the Jets shaded the Blues 4-3 in double overtime. Winnipeg forced overtime with a goal in the final second of regulation. The Jets win that series 4-3.
Tonight…
- The Panthers visit the Maple Leafs to open their Eastern Conference semifinal series.
The NHL Draft Lottery takes place tonight, to establish the selection order of the 16 teams that missed the playoffs. The Sharks had the worst record in the league, and will have a 25 percent chance of getting the top pick. Only the first 11 teams on the list have a chance at the number-one. The Red Wings are 12th, with just a 5 percent chance of claiming the second pick.
