Northern Michigan University announces plans to retain Parker Executive Search when seeking to fill Brock Tessman’s shoes.
In April Montana State University announced plans to bring Tessman on as its 13th President. Tessman wrote to the NMU community, after accepting the position with MSU, extending a bittersweet goodbye. He was hired by NMU in 2023, and served as Northern Michigan University’s 17th President.
NMU Board of Trustees Chair Steve Young says the institution was impressed by Parker’s work during its previous search in 2022, which resulted in Tessman’s appointment. Additionally, by working again with this firm, with the advantage of prior experience and knowledge of the University’s community and goals, NMU expects to fill the role shortly.
The university plans to establish a Presidential search advisory committee to carry out the search for Northern Michigan University’s 18th President.
