Ruth E. Kyllonen, 86, a resident of Hancock, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Canal View — Houghton County where she had been a resident patient.
She was born on April 21, 1938, in Oskar, MI a daughter of the late Walfred and Amelia (Biilikangas) Ylitalo. As a child, she moved with her family to Quincy Hill and was a graduate of the Hancock High School with the class of 1957.
In 1959, Ruth was united in marriage to Roland “Rollie” Kyllonen. The couple resided in Hancock as they raised their family. On October 26, 2013, Rollie preceded Ruth in death.
Mrs. Kyllonen was a member of the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church of Hancock, where she was active with the quilters of the church, she also was a member of the former Eagles Club helping with the pasty fundraiser for many years. Ruth enjoyed bowling for many years. She also enjoyed spending time and sharing her wonderful bakery with family and friends while visiting.
Preceding her in death were her husband Rollie, her parents, her sister, Elaine Juntunen, her brother Ronald Ylitalo; her niece Betty Perla, and her nephew: Danny Juntunen.

Her sons: Roger (Patty) Kyllonen of Flushing, MI
Russell (Lisa) Kyllonen of Dollar Bay
Her grandchildren: Nichole (Brady) McCloskey, Vicky Kyllonen, Isaac (Carla) Kyllonen and Melissa (Don) Wareham.
9 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren

A memorial service for Ruth will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church of Hancock with Revs. Brahm Semmler-Smith and Kelly Ylitalo to officiate. Spring burial will be in the Lakeside Cemetery of Hancock.
Friends may call on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, from 1:00 pm until time of services at the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church of Hancock
