
Houghton city Police and Michigan State Police are investigating an attempted burglary at Breakwater Federal Credit Union.
On April 6th, at 8am officers were called to the Breakwater FCU location on Sharon Avenue. Officers found an ATM machine was broken upon arrival. Further investigation of the building’s security camera footage showed two male subjects attempting to break into the ATM in the early morning hours, Sunday.
Officials believe the incident is connected a stolen vehicle from South Range, later recovered in Dodgeville.
Michigan State Police lead the investigation into the stolen vehicle. The City of Houghton Police Department has taken lead on the burglary incident.
